"Au Coup de Fusil" by Eglantine Lemaitre

The fine pair of hunting dogs alerted by the sound of a rifle shot was sculpted by Eglantine Lemaitre circa 1890.  Au Coup de Fusil (or, in English, The Shot) has very nice detail and makes an elegant addition to a traditional home or office setting.  Please be sure to click on the "View More Images" link above to see additional views of this sculpture.

 

The artwork has been cast of pure bronze in our own California art foundry.  It features a rich patina finish, with the rear dog slightly darker than the dog in the foreground.  The bronze is mounted onto a custom-cut green marble base, stands 10½" high by 18" wide, and is signed "Eg. Lemaitre" and marked with the title "AU COUP DE FUSIL".  This is a high quality bronze sculpture that will literally endure for hundreds of years.
